Originally from Lubbock TX, Connor Towns is currently a junior at Texas State University where he is working towards a B.M. in Music Education. Connor studies trumpet with Dr. Keith Winking and Dr. Robert Cannon, currently sits as principal trumpet of the Texas State Wind Symphony, the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, and the Texas State Chamber Orchestra, and is also a Drum Major for the Bobcat Marching Band. Connor also studies music composition with Dr. Michael Ippolito, with his most recent composition being performed and recorded by piano/percussion quartet, Yarn/Wire.

He is currently writing a piece for the Attaca String Quartet, and arranging a string quartet by Jennifer Higdon into a trumpet sextet to be performed at the National Trumpet Competition, where Connor has performed twice as a semi-finalist. In the summers, Connor counsels at White River Youth Camp, where he spends nearly two months mentoring and supervising children, aged from kindergarten to recent high-school graduates.
